ABOUT JESSYE

After graduating with a degree in knitwear (fashion + textiles) from Winchester School of Art in 2018, Jessye moved back home to West Cornwall. Keeping her combined love of design, fashion and the creation of textiles alive, she began to develop knitwear inspired by the rugged, dramatic surrounding land/seascapes. The brand Jessye Boulton Knitwear came about organically in 2019 as she began to sell these pieces via designer/maker/high-end craft shows across the UK and online.

CORNISH DESIGN

Observation of and respect for the spaces and places we inhabit, and an appreciation of sensory experience influence Jessye’s practice as a designer/maker. Designs often feature colours, patterns and/or textures that are subtly reflective of elements of the land/seascape that inspired them, whilst maintaining a fresh, contemporary feel.

SLOWING DOWN | CONSCIOUS CRAFT

The making of each unique garment or accessory embraces time, skill and precision, resulting in refined pieces of knitwear that are often individual by nature. Developed using luxury natural yarns for instance silk, wool or mohair, each piece is slowly crafted using hand powered knitting machinery in a way that uses little or zero waste. Products are then hand finished and washed for optimum quality and feel. The ethos of slow fashion is at the heart of the Jessye Boulton Knitwear brand. Each piece is designed and made with longevity in mind, promoting value and sustainable living.
